Your First Lyme Disease Consultation: Cost & Insurance
Just as Lyme disease is complicated, sometimes it can get complicated to work through paying for the testing and unique treatments found at Haverford Wellness. Ultimately, you are responsible for paying for all Lyme treatment services (including testing, office visits, blood work, etc). Don?t forget you are also responsible for the deductible before your insurance company's funds kick in.
It's important to know how you are planning to financially handle your treatments before you start. We will work with your insurance plan to the best of our ability, submitting all the paperwork and working through your policy.
Insurance companies we have successfully worked with in the past are:
- Cigna
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Medicare
- United Healthcare and many others
Insurance companies that allow an "out of network provider"
- Aetna POS
There are hundreds of private insurance companies, that allow this. You would have to check with your plan, or if you call we may have worked with them before. Usually we can successfully work with these insurance companies. Remember you still often have to pay the deductible.
Insurance companies we do NOT participate in:
- Aetna HMO
- Keystone
And others. In these situations we are not recognized at all. So, unfortunately, you would have to pay for all your expenses. There are no reimbursements from the insurance company.
The initial consultation & evaluation is $275. Please be sure to know how you are going to pay for this consultation, before you make your first appt. Some people wait till the last minute, find out it?s not covered, and are a ?no show? on their initial consultation. This wastes the Doctor?s time. So we do require a 48 hour notification if you are canceling your initial consultation, or you will be billed the full $275.
The cost of treatment plans vary, based on your test results. However, again, be sure to know your insurance coverage BEFORE you have your Initial Consultation.
